The bike breaks down so its own frame is used as a lock. To steal the bike, one would have to saw throw the frame, rendering it useless.
The trio recently turned to crowfunding website Indiegogo to raise money to create their first batch of bikes.
"The most important goal is that customers say, 'This bike is great. We love the bike you sold us and we will spread the word," Cabello told CNN.
