Pilot makes emergency landing near Kingsburg, sustains minor injuries

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The pilot of a small plane made an emergency landing north of Kingsburg on Friday afternoon, coming down near Mendocino and Caruthers avenues.

The aircraft landed in an open field near the Kings Estates Homes development, according to authorities. Kingsburg Fire officials confirmed the pilot suffered minor injuries and was evaluated at the scene.

No homes or construction areas were struck during the landing, and the plane avoided causing additional damage.
