Serious Injury reported in multi-vehicle collision involving E-scooter in Clovis

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man riding an electric scooter was seriously injured Saturday afternoon after being struck by a Nissan during a multi-car collision.

It happened near the intersection of Clovis and Santa Ana Avenues around 12:30 p.m.

Officers say the adult rider was traveling south in the crosswalk on Clovis Avenue when the Nissan, waiting to make a turn onto Santa Ana, was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The impact caused the Nissan to collide into the e-scooter and left the rider with major head injuries.

The rider of the e-scooter has been transported to Community Regional Medical Center but there is no word on their condition at this time.

All drivers remained on scene and are fully cooperating with law enforcement, DUI is not suspected in this incident.
