TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Tulare County judge has reduced the sentence of a 16-year-old who admitted to murdering Orosi teacher Sergio Martin in 2023.
The teen was originally sentenced last December to the maximum seven years in custody.
The court has now reduced that time by two months for good behavior.
The teen confessed to shooting Martin multiple times during a burglary at his Dinuba home.

Another review of the teen's progress is set for December, where the court could reduce the sentence even further.
Prosecutors objected to the reduction, saying his seven-year sentence was already short because California law prevented them from trying the teen as an adult.
