Firefighters gain more containment over KNP Complex Fire

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are continuing to build containment around the KNP Complex Fire burning inside the Sequoia National Forest.

The wildfire has now charred more than 87,000 acres across Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Firefighters have containment at 30%.

Tulare County Fire updated on Facebook Sunday night to address concerns about the fire on the north side. Officials said Friday's wet weather helped lessen the chance of rapid fire spread.

Several evacuation orders and warnings were downgraded over the weekend; however, some remain in effect across Tulare and Fresno counties. Click here for the latest evacuation orders and warnings.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks remain closed because of the fire.
