Valley Golf Center to close after nearly 9 years in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A locally owned golf business will close its doors at the end of July.

Valley Golf Center is located just off Highway 41 on Avenue 9 in Madera County.

For the last eight and a half years, the owners say they've worked to provide a fun and safe place for people to come and practice their swings.

But their lease wasn't renewed, so they've decided to retire.

While the business will remain a place for people to golf, a corporation out of Northern California is taking it over starting August first.

The owners say it's bittersweet.

"We just want to thank the community. We've put our heart and soul into making this something fun," Valley Golf Center co-owner Cindy Vinning said. "We hope people remember us that way, cause we really did everything we could for the community."

Over the years, Valley Golf Center has supported several local events, including The First Tee of Fresno, Valley Children's Hospital and several schools.

The owners would like to remind customers with gift cards and range cards for the driving range to come in and use them before the last day, July 29.
