An inspection contractor found a chemical tank at a Washington state paper mill "not fit for continued service" 10 months before it failed in May.
A leaking tanker truck spewed dangerous ammonia gas in a hotel parking lot, forcing hundreds of residents in a small Oklahoma city to evacuate and sending several dozen people to the hospital, authorities said Thursday.
Residents near Pitman Farms in Sanger are being asked to shelter in place due to an ammonia leak.
Authorities have confirmed that two people died and at least 35 were injured after a chemical leak at a Texas facility on Thursday evening.
Authorities confirmed the leak was styrene, a flammable liquid used to make plastics and rubber, according to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
"In no way, shape or form, will Norfolk Southern get off the hook for the mess that they created," EPA Administrator Michael Regan said
