Appraisal expert Leila Dunbar noted the collection's rarity and historical importance when making her assesment.
The $1 million appraised collection features vintage baseball cards of the 1871-1872 Boston Red Stockings.
Included in the collection are handwritten letters from the Red Stockings players to the owner's great great grandmother.
