Cavaliers star Matthew Dellavedova escorts Ohio girl, 17, with cancer to prom

Jackie Custer, a 17-year-old cancer patient, was a fan of Matthew Dellavedova before he was an NBA playoffs standout. He knows this because she chose him to escort her to prom.
Custer told WEWS that the two hit it off because they are both point guards.
''It was definitely magical, and he's the sweetest guy I've ever met,'' she said.
The event, called ''A Prom to Remember'' was held by the Akron Children's Hospital in March.
Custer said they have kept up on social media and that she has wished him good luck before every game.
Dellavedova then invited Custer to see an NBA game in person.
''I'm very very blessed,'' Custer wrote on Twitter of her friendship with the NBA star. ''You are truly amazing.''
Custer said she feels like a superstar now that her prom date is so well-known.
