Accuweather Forecast: Dangerous Heat Continues

Good morning, it's Madeline from the Accuweather Center!

We are in day 2 of a 6 day stretch of extreme heat and accuweather alerts. This will be in place through Monday with highs ranging from 102-112. Temperatures this morning are mild start off the 60s and 70s. Fresno will reach a high of 107 this afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. There is an excessive heat warning starting this morning through Saturday for dangerous heat in the valley and lower foothills with highs reaching as high as 112 both Friday and Saturday. There is a chance for dry thunderstorms over the mountains with lightning and gusty wind but not much rain. With dry conditions and the heat lightning could start a fire very easily and spread quickly. We will see that chance for dry storms again Friday. Temperatures will finally drop back to the 90s by the middle of next week.

I will have your full forecast on Action News.
