MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman who was arrested following a deadly domestic dispute in Madera Friday has been identified.
Fabiola Frias-Sanchez has been booked into the Madera County jail on several charges, including murder.
Police say they were called to D and 9th streets around 3 p.m. for reports of a man and woman fighting.
Neighbors in the area tell Action News that they heard arguing before officers arrived.
"The female was detained once we got on scene, and started addressing the male who sustained major life-threatening injuries during the altercation," Madera Police Sergeant Blake Short said.
The man, who has yet to be identified, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.
"The felony charges would include the murder charge, a felony domestic violence charge, and then also a felony charge for using a serious or deadly weapon," Sergeant Short said.
It's unknown if the man and Frias-Sanchez were in a relationship or have a dating history.
As detectives try to piece together what led up to the victim's death, Sergeant Short says the police department is focused on supporting the families involved in this incident.
"Try to get victim services involved and stuff like that for the families. And try to get them any kind of assistance with what they might need through this tough time," Sergeant Short said.
Police say there were witnesses inside the home at the time, but detectives are still looking for information.
Anyone with details or family who wants to share more about the suspect and the victim is encouraged to contact detectives.
