Homeowners got to meet with representatives from the state of California in addition to lenders, counselors and fraud prevention experts.
If you're at risk of losing your home but missed Saturday's event, state leaders urge you to contact your lender. But if someone other than your lender contacts you, beware of fraud.
Rosario Marin, State & Consumer Services Secretary, says "We know that there are a lot of scam artists out there. We know people are being victimized twice. So, please, make sure you do business with people that are real."
