Next week, you might want to keep an eye out for Stan Carrizosa, Jr, an El Diamante High School student here in Visalia.
This is 17-year old Stan Carrizosa on the set of he new reality show, "High School Musical - Get in the Picture." He's spent the last several weeks shooting on location in Los Angeles. His dad, Visalia Schools Superintendent Stan Carrizosa, Sr., says everyone is thrilled.
Stan Carrizosa, Sr., says," It's really fun. It's a little bit surreal. You don't know what it feels like to be a parent and see your kid on television until you're doing your normal household chores- you're washing the dishes and then there's your kid on ABC!"
Carrizosa says his son auditioned for the show on a whim. Now, his family can't wait to see him on the small screen. His sister, Estee Carrizosa, says, "He always says I can't believe I made it this far, I'm so excited that I'm still here."
It wasn't too long ago that Stan Carrizosa, Jr. was impressing the crowds at local competitions, like at Visalia's Teen Idol contest last summer and as the Tin Man in El Diamante's January production of "The Wizard of Oz."
Carrizosa Jr.'s Musical Theater Director Michael Tackett says, "I think from the first time I ever heard Stan's voice I knew at that point that he's going to make it big and just do great things because his voice is just a beautiful instrument."
Friends and family can't wait to see how the teen performs on the show, and hope this I the start of a successful Hollywood career.
Stan Carrizosa, Jr will be featured on next week's shows. The winner will star in a music video in the upcoming "High School Musical 3" movie and get a recording contract.
