Local Crews Head to So Cal This Morning

11/15/2008 Fresno, CA, USA Crews from the Fresno City Fire Department left Friday for Santa Barbara. Two engines, with four people each, got the call early in the morning. They left from downtown Fresno around eleven am.

Once they arrive at the base camp in Santa Barbara, firefighters say there's no telling how long they'll stay. Nick Martino, Fresno Fire Dept., says "It all depends on what the weather is doing and how many structures are being threatened. It could be a couple of days to a week. We're not going to know until we get there."

Crews from Fresno City fire tell Action News they don't normally spend this much time out of town, but this fire season has been busier than most.
