Uninvited Guest Shooting

Fresno, CA, USA Police said the suspect and some friends were kept out of the house on Fremont near Fresno in Northeast Fresno.

Witnesses said the victim, Travis Williams, was trying to help his friend just before he was shot. The Williams' family said they are convinced someone knows who the suspect is and they're not going to give up until they find out.

"He's got two boys. He's got a lot of friends, he was a wonderful kid. I watched him come into the world and someone took him out," said Debbie Williams-Beshears, Travis Williams Aunt.

Debbie Williams-Beshears speaks fondly of her nephew, thirty-year-old Travis Williams.

Williams was at this house early Sunday morning when police claim a group of uninvited guests showed up and were asked to leave. Once outside, people who were at the party tell Action News the group started urinating on cars, upsetting the homes' owner. That's when Williams tried to help, but was shot dead in this driveway.

"I think they said five or six shots and the only one who got hit was my nephew Travis," said Debbie Williams-Beshears.

Witnesses said the gunman fired several shots, three of them going through the garage where there were people inside. "His life was taken for no reason. You go to bed at night and you wake up the next morning, and one of your relatives is dead, someone that you love dearly," said Debbie Williams-Beshears.

Detectives investigating the murder said the suspect was seen leaving with several other people. He has not been identified.

But William's aunt said someone at the party invited the suspect to this house. She's asking questions, and pleading for answers. "You need to talk, you need to tell. There's a family that's hurting. Our hearts are broken. He was a great guy."

This is fifth murder in Fresno so far this year. If you have any information about this murder, you are urged to call the Fresno Police Department.
