Edison High School teacher hit by car near Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif.

Officials say 43-year-old Alexander Lark was killed when he was hit by a car near Shaw and Maple Tuesday evening.

Investigators say lark walked into oncoming traffic on Shaw. He was taken to Saint Agnes Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Officials with Fresno Unified say Lark had worked at Edison High for the past seven years as a special education teacher.

Investigators do not believe the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It is still unclear why Lark stepped into traffic.

Fresno Unified learned today of the loss of Alex Lark, who had been a special education teacher at Edison High School since 2013. Alex Lark was employed by Fresno Unified since 2005. Lark was well liked by his students as well as his colleagues. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts during this very difficult time.
