Ben Fire: Evacuations lifted for fire burning in Mariposa County

MARIPOSA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Evacuation orders have been lifted for some Mariposa County residents as firefighters gained some containment of the Ben Fire overnight.

The fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon and has burned 48 acres with 55% containment.

The Ben Fire quickly forced mandatory evacuations near Ben Hur and Buckeye Roads, which has since reopened. Drivers are still advised to avoid the area if possible.
