Poverello House Director, Cruz Avila said, "For us, this is a bit of more of a special day but it goes to what we do at the Poverello House every single day."
Thousands lined up for breakfast and lunch but it would not be a Christmas feast without the sounds of Willy J.
Volunteer Angelique and her family have made serving a part of their holiday tradition for the last five years.
This is the first holiday season following two devastating losses for the Poverello House -- the passing of Founder Papa Mike and longtime volunteer Felix Avila.
"Both men were just all about giving," Avila said.
