FRESNO, Calif. -- Students at San Joaquin Memorial High School in Central Fresno took some time today to celebrate abilities.
They teamed up with students from United Cerebral Palsy, Rata High School, and Social Vocational Services to hold a carnival. The idea is to help educate and expose people to those with special needs. Memorial students put together wheelchair races, a balloon toss, karaoke, and a softball game.
"It's a pleasure for us and an honor to be able to serve the special needs community, especially since our mission as a Catholic school is to serve our brothers and sisters in solidarity," said Clarissa Myers, Director of Campus Ministry.
Some 110 special needs students took part in the fun.
