Film and TV stars gathered in Santa Monica on Dec. 11 for one of the first award shows of the season, the Critics' Choice Awards.

La La Land won the most awards with eight, including Best Picture. For television, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story took home the most awards with four.

The Critics' Choice Awards recognize excellence in film and television as chosen by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association. For the film categories, the show has typically been an accurate predictor of who will be nominated for an Oscar, according to its website.
