A treat for Dad this weekend! Chef Shayna from the Young Chef's Academy in Fresno shows us how to make a delicious strawberry pizza.
Crust
1 1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup flour
2 TB powdered sugar
Directions
In a medium bowl combine all 3 ingredients with a pastry blender (or food processor). With a rolling pin, spread on to lightly greased pizza pan (13" round). Use a piece of plastic wrap to help spread the dough.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until edges turn a slight golden brown.
Cream topping
8oz Cool Whip topping
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients with a hand mixer until well combined.
Strawberry Glaze
6 cups strawberries, hulled, divided
3/4 cup sugar
3 TB corn starch
3/4 cup water
Directions
Mash 1 cup strawberries with a potato masher or fork & set aside.
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar & cornstarch. Stir in water & 1 cup of mashed berries, store to combine. Cook for 5 additional minutes until liquid evaporates. Remove from heat & let cool for at least 10 minutes.
Spread 1/3 of glaze over the cooked cookie crust. Spread whipped topping on top. Slice remaining strawberries in half and arrange along the top. Spoon over the remaining glaze and chill for 1-2 hours.
