MONTGOMERY, Texas -- Thanks to several tips, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested one of the Harvey victims accused of stealing from a church.

Blake Mayon and Naomi Johnston are accused of stealing from Dacus Baptist Church in Montgomery at 5403 N. FM 1486. The church took them in during Hurricane Harvey.

The church gave them keys so they could come and go and even bought a white Dodge truck for Mayon so he could get to work.

Deputies said church personnel started to notice that tools and other items were missing. Then, Mayon and Johnston disappeared without notice.

Mayon allegedly pawned the stolen items for cash.

Friday morning, the sheriff's office updated the case and confirmed that Mayon was arrested during a traffic stop after leaving the Walmart on Walden Road and Highway 105.

Deputies said they found additional stolen property in his vehicle.

He is charged with felony theft.

Deputies continue to search for Johnston.
