MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are investigating a shooting at a Merced pizza parlor that sent three people to the hospital, including the shooter.
Shots rang out inside a crowded Mountain Mike's Pizza near Olive and Meadows Avenues around 7:30 pm Monday night.
The attack happened as people gathered to eat and watch the Raiders game on Monday Night Football.
When the gunfire erupted, diners inside the restaurant stepped in to stop the suspect and helped detain him until officers arrived.
"Citizens had already taken some action, detained that was involved, when we got here we secured the scene, and our victims were transported to area hospitals following the incident," said Merced Police Sgt. Chris Russell.
Police say at least one person was shot. At last, report the victim was in critical condition.
Authorities say two other people, including the alleged shooter, were injured and taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
Police are still working to determine a motive for this shooting.
The suspect has not yet been identified.
