FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -- Nassau County Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide in Farmingdale.

A man was found dead on the Long Island Rail Road tracks and police confirm that close by there also is a crime scene at Secatogue Avenue in Farmingdale, police confirmed.

Witnesses saw a woman's body in the street at Secatogue about 1,000 feet from the station that she had been decapitated. She was said to be in her 60s.

A half hour later, the man, in his 30s, apparently threw himself in front of an LIRR train east of Bethpage around 8:15 p.m.

The relationship between the two people is not yet known.

Service on the Ronkonkoma Branch resumed early Wednesday morning.
