FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A police standoff in west central Fresno Sunday night ended quietly with the robbery suspect in custody.

Police tracked down the 23-year-old suspect at an apartment complex on Princeton Avenue near Pima around 6 p.m.

Authorities said the man was wanted for an armed robbery at a liquor store earlier in the day. The suspect spotted officers and barricaded himself in his home.

Authorities worked with family members to try to convince him to surrender, but as the standoff continued for over an hour the Fresno police Violent Impact Team and K-9 unit went into the house.

They found the man hiding in the attic and arrested him without resistance

His name has not yet been released.
