ORANGE COVE, Calif. (KFSN) -- It took eight years, but Orange Cove High School finally has a football stadium of their own.

Local voters approved Measure K in 2012, which took money out of property taxes and funneled it towards school projects like the brand new Titan Stadium.

The stadium seats more than 2,000 people, has an elevator, press box and classrooms. Beneath the cement bleachers there's a weight room, two locker rooms and a training room. The gridiron is surrounded by a brand new all-weather track.

Students say they're excited to no longer play in dust. And say it gives them a large sense of appreciation, and accomplishment.

Orange Cove High School Senior Abigail Vidrio said, "Most students used to have the mentality that oh we don't have a stadium other schools are better than us but now that we have one it's like oh we're the same as the other schools it brings out more pride in us."
