Fresno, Calif. (KFSN) -- The event is sponsored by Granville homes and they made a donation to cover the cost of all dog and pet adoptions through the month of September.
"So we are going to be doing adoption surveys to find out a little about the homes. That gives us the opportunity to educate the public--pet care, what to expect," said Amanda Allen, Fresno Humane Animal Service.
The shelter also encourages "meet and greets", where you take your pet to the shelter to meet the animals and see how they get along before you bring a new pet home.
Fresno Humane is open Monday through Saturday -- and will be closed on Labor Day.
