1 hospitalized after stabbing in central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A person is recovering after being stabbed in central Fresno Monday morning.

It happened just before 8 am on Blackstone and Effie.

When police arrived, they found a victim with a stab wound to the right rib cage and back.

Investigators say the person was riding their bike with a friend on Belmont when someone came out of the neighborhood.

The victim and suspect got into an argument, and the suspect pulled out a small hatchet and stabbed the person.

They were taken to the hospital.

Police say this investigation is ongoing.
