2 arrested for deadly shooting of Orange Cove man, police say

DINUBA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two suspects are in custody in connection to the deadly shooting of an Orange Cove man.

Police arrested 19-year-old Fabian Rojas and 18-year-old Fabian Cerda for the shooting of 19-year-old Adrian Ayala.

Both suspects and the victim are from Orange Cove.

Ayala's family said the shooting happened on August 21 while he was riding home with a co-worker after finishing his shift at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Visalia.

Police say it was a car-to-car shooting at about 3am when Ayala's vehicle was shot at in the area of Alta and Nebraska Avenue.

Ayala graduated from Orange Cove High School and was a decorated participant in the school's career technical education pathways. At one point, he pursued a pathway toward becoming a firefighter, a goal his family said he never had the opportunity to achieve.

The Ayala family has organized a GoFundMe to help during this difficult time.
