2 men arrested after shooting in parking lot at Winton Community Park

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two men are in custody after authorities say they shot a man near a Little League practice at Winton Community Park.

According to the Merced County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Alberto Cervantes was arrested earlier today, following the arrest of 18-year-old Andres Haro late last week. Both men have been charged with attempted murder and gang-related offenses.

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. on June 16 at the park on Olive Avenue. Witnesses told deputies the victim was shot several times in the parking lot.

Law enforcement officers provided aid to the victim at the scene before he was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
