26-year-old woman shot and killed in central Fresno identified

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The woman who was shot and killed in central Fresno over the weekend has been identified as 26-year-old Marione Tsegay.

Police were called out to the area of Fruit and Shields just before 9:30 pm Saturday for reports of a shooting.

Officers believe Tsegay was involved in an argument with 24-year-old Nemadia Knuckles at a house party, which then led to the shooting.

Authorities say a friend was already driving Tsegay to the hospital when they found Fresno Fire crews near Palm and Clinton, where they stopped to get help.

The victim was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where she died.

Knuckles was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for murder.
