FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Clovis resident says he witnessed the aftermath of a deadly helicopter crash while visiting the island of Kauai.
The tour aircraft went down Thursday evening near a remote beach, killing three people and injuring two others.
Bystanders and fire crews rescued the two survivors.
Clovis resident Jeff Aiello was on the island that same day, filming a travel series, when the crash happened.
He spoke with Action News about what he saw at the scene shortly after the crash.
"Right away, I saw a lot of emergency first responders carrying someone off of a gurney. They had lots of people around it. And so, we knew that was a pretty injured person. And then, unfortunately, right below that scene, on the ground, we noticed what appeared to be a white body bag with somebody in it," Aiello said.
Aiello added that his team had been planning to take a helicopter tour during their trip but ultimately decided against it following the deadly crash.
