
CENTRAL FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A young life cut short.
The family of Nathan Torres is facing unbearable pain after the 15-year-old was tragically struck by a car and killed while riding his bike on Monday.
The corners at the intersection of Fresno and Olive in Central Fresno filled with signs Saturday for a carwash in his honor.
From family to strangers, the community rolled up their sleeves to show their support.
"Everybody devastated in this neighborhood," says neighbor Tina Zapata.
Nathan was a 10th grader at McClain High School was youngest of five boys and a 49ers fanatic.
A straight A student with a dream to become a teacher.
"He wanted to go to the homecoming but unfortunately you know he couldn't do all the boys his cousins they were out there his mom was out there," says Tony Torres, Nathan's uncle.
In light of the tragedy the family is sounding the alarm about safety on the road.
Nathan's mom Juanita Torres with this message," At the end of the day I just want you guys to hug your kids, kiss them. Slow down. Slow down."
A GoFundMe has also been set up to help with funeral expenses for Nathan.
