Elderly man killed following hit-and-run crash in Central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An elderly man is dead after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Central Fresno Sunday night.

According to Fresno Police, officers were called to the intersection of McKinley and Normal avenues, where they found a man in his 80s dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the victim's identity.

Authorities are speaking with witnesses and looking for surveillance video to help identify and locate the suspect.

Police say the area will be closed for several hours. Those traveling in the area are asked to find an alternative route.
