Fresno State impacted by cybersecurity incident

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State is warning students and staff of a cybersecurity incident that may have put their personal information at risk.

The school sent this message Wednesday, stating that the company behind the Canvas Learning Management System has confirmed a cybersecurity incident.

The school learned Tuesday that there was unauthorized access to data through Canvas.

Fresno State was one of multiple schools impacted.

They say the data may include personal information, but there's no indication the breach involves passwords, government-issued ID numbers or financial information.

The school is closely monitoring updates and potential impacts.
