Groundbreaking held for new Clovis Regional Library

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Action News was in Clovis on Wednesday for the groundbreaking celebration for a new library.

The "Clovis Regional Library" will be located on 3rd and Clovis Avenue, behind the Clovis Senior Center.

It will be the largest space in the Fresno County Library system at more than 26,000 square feet.

The current building is about one-third that size and opened nearly 50 years ago, in 1976.

The new library will feature a multi-use community room, teen room and outdoor seating along the Clovis Trail.

The mayor of Clovis, Vong Mouanoutoua, says this project required teamwork.

Officials expect the building process to take about a year and are hoping to have a grand opening in summer 2026.

The new library was made possible through funding from voter-approved Measure B.
