FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- "It's like nothing I've seen before. We do concerts here weekly and there's no energy like this," said Britny Valdivia, Manager of Rainbow Ballroom
Mexico secured a 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic after Mateo Chávez and Julián Quiñones scored goals in a six-minute span early in the second half.
The ballroom erupted in cheers and celebrations as some proudly waved the Mexican flag.
Alvaro Fidalgo added a goal in second-half stoppage time.
That goal secured Mexico's victory to win all three of its World Cup-group-stage matches for the first time.
The Rainbow Ballroom hosted its third free watch party featuring a Mexico soccer match. The Downtown Fresno venue will host its fourth watch party next week.
"Every four years, we gotta be supporting Mexico. I'll always be supporting Mexico," said Jazmin Vargas, a Mexico soccer fan.
"So as long as Mexico keeps winning, we'll still be here chanting them," said Valdivia.
Each watch party features a local group to keep the crowd's energy up, even when games end early.
"We've been bringing local talent and supporting the Fresno community -- they've been loving it; the crowd is still staying and partying and celebrating with us," said Valdivia.
Each watch party drew about 1,000 Mexican soccer fans to the venue.
"It's been a very good turnout and it's all ages, all kids, adults, so the whole family is coming out partying together, which we love," said Valdivia.
Partying with protections in place, as 16 security guards were seen patrolling throughout the venue on Wednesday night.
"We have them at the entry so they could do bag checks on everybody and also full body checks, and we also have them in the back circling throughout the venue," said Valdivia.
The event goes beyond soccer. For the family-owned business run by Mexican immigrants, the unifying atmosphere is personal.
"My father, who owns the venue, loves soccer. We're proud to be from Mexico, so having everyone here and having the local support, and just coming to enjoy the free event like they are. It's great for us," said Valdivia.
On June 30, the Rainbow Ballroom will host its fourth Mexico soccer game watch party. Doors open at 5:00 and the game begins at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend the free family-friendly event.
