Jeff Tedford to be inducted into the Fresno State Ring of Honor

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Former Fresno State Bulldog quarterback and head coach Jeff Tedford will be inducted into the Fresno State Football Ring of Honor this October.

The former Bulldog will officially be inducted during halftime of the October 25 homecoming game against San Diego State.

Tedford joins the Ring of Honor as the 13th player celebrated and the third head coach joining Pat Hill and Tim Sweeney. He is also the only inductee to go in as a player and a coach at Fresno State.

Like a surprise from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he found out with a knock on the door from the likes of coach Hill and David and Derek Carr.

Tedford was the Mountain West coach of the year in 2017. The following year, he coached the Bulldogs to 12 wins, the most in a single season in program history.

Before coaching Trent Dilfer, Billy Volek, David Carr and Jake Haener, he was QB1 himself.

As a player, he set records and played in the first-ever game in the history of Bulldog Stadium.

Tedford led the Bulldogs to a win over Bowling Green in the 1982 Raisin Bowl.
