Man arrested in connection to homicide in Kingsburg, authorities say

KINGSBURG, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Kingsburg man is in custody, accused of murder in a deadly assault.

Luis Rodriguez, 38, is in the Fresno County Jail, charged with murder.

His bail is set at $1 million.

Around 10:30 pm on July 18, Kingsburg police responded to Seventh Avenue and Nevada Street for an assault with a deadly weapon.

They found 25-year-old Alvaro Hernandez Junior with serious injuries. He died at the hospital, despite life-saving efforts.

Sheriff's deputies took over the case and identified Rodriguez as the primary suspect.

They arrested him earlier this week in Selma.

The investigation is still ongoing.
