Man arrested for murder of woman found dead in northwest Fresno dumpster

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An arrest has been made for the murder of a woman whose body was found in a northwest Fresno dumpster on Sunday.

Fresno Police say 58-year-old Michael Koontz of Fresno was arrested Wednesday for the murder of 52-year-old Jennifer "Michelle" Jones.

Jones' body was found in the area of Fallbrook Avenue, east of Ingram Avenue around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Homicide detectives were called in to take over the case and determined Jones was the victim of a homicide.

Detectives say Koontz did know Jones.

Koontz has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge.

Although an arrest has been made, detectives urge anyone with information on this case to contact the Fresno Police Department or Valley Crime Stoppers.
