
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has been taken to the hospital after he was stabbed in the neck in Southwest Fresno on Monday evening.
Fresno police say that around 4:30 p.m., a family member brought the victim to the Fresno Police Department substation off Fresno and "C" streets.
Officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the neck and believe a wooden object was used as the weapon.
Authorities discovered that the stabbing occurred off Whitebridge and Thorne avenues.
The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he is undergoing surgery. Officials say the man is expected to survive.
Officers went out to the area where the stabbing occurred and interviewed multiple witnesses.
They also recovered surveillance video, which they said helped them locate a suspect who is now in custody.
Both the suspect and victim identities have not been released.
A motive for the stabbing is unknown. The incident remains under investigation.
