Man killed after being hit by a vehicle off Highway 99 exit in Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has died after being struck by a vehicle near the Highway 99 off-ramp at Olive Avenue in Fresno on Wednesday night.

Fresno police say the collision happened just before 10 p.m. at a crosswalk near Olive Avenue and the Highway 99 exit.

The driver remained at the scene following the crash.

The man was conscious and breathing when emergency crews arrived.

He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he died from his injuries.

The victim's identity has not been released.

According to authorities, the driver exited Highway 99 and was turning onto Olive when the pedestrian was hit.

Investigators say the driver is cooperating with the investigation and that no criminal activity or alcohol is suspected.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
