Person killed after being struck by train in Merced

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- A person has died after being struck by a train Monday morning in Merced, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the railroad crossing near 16th and V streets and involved a Union Pacific train.

The person who was killed has not been identified.

Investigators said no one aboard the train was injured.

The investigation remains ongoing.
