FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 30-year-old man has died after being stabbed to death during a large fight in central Fresno.
Police say a fight broke out between at least a dozen people at the intersection of Orchard Street and Grant Avenue at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say as the fight continued, the victim fell to the ground, then the fight broke apart and everybody involved fled.
When officers arrived, they found the man unresponsive and suffering from an injury to his chest.
He was then taken to the hospital, where he later died.
"This is out of the norm. We're not sure where the crowd of individuals did come from," Fresno Police Lieutenant Zebulon Price said. "This is not a part of town that we do come to very often for incidents like this."
It's unclear what caused the fight to break out between the group.
No suspect information was provided.
Fresno Police do not believe the stabbing is gang-related.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department or Valley Crimestoppers.
