Merced Applegate Park Zoo set to reopen following renovations

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- You'll be able to see animals again at the Merced Applegate Park Zoo.

The zoo says it will be reopening on Friday, July 24, following much-needed improvements and additions.

The closure began at the start of the year and had been extended after the zoo originally shut its gates to build a new black bear exhibit.

We're told the Bobcat exhibit was also upgraded, along with walking paths and the gift shop upgrades.

The Zoo will open at 10 am for the grand reopening.
