FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer unveiled a new FAX bus route on Monday that will connect the southeast and southwest parts of town.
FAX route 29 will travel down Church Avenue from Fowler to Walnut.
It will also travel around the campus of Sanger West High School and between Fresno City College's West Fresno campus and Edison High School.
Mayor Dyer says this new route will serve more than 44,000 people who are located nearby.
It will also pass through 8,000 job locations and will connect many to their schools and doctors' appointments.
"This is not just about transportation, it's about equity, about access and it is about opportunity. Providing equal opportunity for people to get to and from wherever they need to go," Mayor Dyer said.
New FAX bus signs are also rolling out with this route.
The mayor says more than 10 million passengers rode the bus in Fresno last year.
