FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The city of Fresno will soon have a professional hockey team for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The announcement comes on the same day that Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer delivers the State of the City address.

Games are set to be played in the city's historic Selland Area, where the former Fresno Falcons professional hockey team played.

The Falcons were part of the East Coast Hockey League before ultimately shutting down in 2008.

More information on the new hockey team, including the league and overall vision, will be announced during a press conference at 2 pm Wednesday.
