Santa Cruz Wharf set to fully reopen 15 months after partial collapse

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Santa Cruz Wharf is set to reopen later this month.

It's been undergoing repairs for more than a year after a portion collapsed during an intense winter storm.

Crews are currently putting the finishing touches on the $1.3 million project.

In social media posts, the wharf management says they will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, April 29.

Back in December of 2024, massive ocean waves hit the south end of the wharf, which was already damaged at the time.

It caused a 150-foot section of the pier that contained a restaurant and public restroom to collapse into the ocean.
