Permit granted for fireworks show to happen at Shaver Lake

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- SoCal Edison sent word to Assemblyman Jim Patterson's office that it would be granting the permit for the fireworks display at Shaver Lake this year.

The permit is conditional on Fresno County approving the event.

The Department of Health has already sent its letter of support for the event in July.

Patterson has even offered to reimburse the cost of the fireworks show, should it be forced to cancel.

He says the event holds special significance as it would be the first major celebration since the Creek Fire devastated the mountain community.
