Suspected DUI driver crashes truck into Visalia home and chased by resident, police say

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is in custody after police say she crashed her truck into a Visalia home while driving under the influence.

It happened on Giddings at West Mary Court around 11:30 pm Monday.

Authorities arrived to find the truck crashed into the home, but no one was inside the truck.

Police say 21-year-old Evette Hopson ran off and was chased by a resident for several blocks, adding that Hopson hit the resident.

Hopson also reportedly resisted being arrested by police before ultimately being taken into custody.

Officers say Hopson was under the influence of alcohol and will be booked into jail on multiple charges.

No one inside the home was hurt from the crash.
